This role is based within an airport. Successful applicants will need to undergo a security/background check.
Responsibilities
* Ensure delivery of customer product consistently to demanding service level standards and set on‑time performance targets.
* Maintain compliance with internal and external regulatory bodies.
* Promote H&S culture across the site.
* Own all people‑related matters within the operation, from investigations to colleague engagement meetings.
* Manage day‑to‑day sickness and absence processes.
* Support Pier leads as part of escalation response with customer engagement and act as point of escalation to the colleague pool.
* Review, develop and improve operational processes through continuous improvement opportunities.
* Investigate and respond to H&S incidents and oversee associated pack completions for review.
* Liaise with management on safety audits and support implementation plans.
* Support the Shift Manager in managing departmental/team budget, especially overtime.
* Carry out HR functions as required, ensuring compliance with all HR processes and policies, including investigations and grievance management.
* Conduct 1‑2‑1 meetings with direct reports, gathering development feedback and building a pipeline of successors within the department.
Qualifications & Experience
* Preferred experience within aviation ground handling or DHL management.
* Experience in a team‑working environment.
* Ability to manage HR functions at site level.
* Strong people‑management skills.
* Experience managing compliance to regulatory bodies (optional but desirable).
Security Process (required for aviation & travel at DHL)
* Provide five years of address history.
