Pastoral Lead - Heybridge | Scale 6 | Permanent We're looking for a calm, caring, and proactive Pastoral Lead to be the heartbeat of pupil support across our school. This is a highly visible, relationship-driven role where no two days are the same-and where you can genuinely change young people's lives. THE ROLE You'll make sure every pupil is known, understood, and supported to succeed. Acting as a key advocate, you'll bridge school, home, and external agencies to remove barriers to learning and wellbeing. You'll manage a caseload of pupils, track progress, and lead targeted interventions that help young people get back on track-academically, socially, and emotionally. You'll also be a familiar, reassuring presence around the school, supporting smooth transitions, improving attendance and behaviour, and helping pupils reintegrate successfully into learning. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Supporting pupils through tailored, needs-led interventions Being a visible, positive presence around the school day Working closely with SEND and safeguarding teams Building strong relationships with families and external agencies Supporting attendance, behaviour, and reintegration plans Using data to spot concerns early and act proactively Maintaining clear, accurate records that support pupil progress Championing pupil voice and helping it shape school life WORKING TOGETHER You'll collaborate with teachers, leaders, attendance staff, SENCOs, and safeguarding teams to ensure every pupil gets the right support at the right time. You'll also be a key contact for parents/carers and external professionals such as social care, local authority teams, and educational psychologists. THE APPROACH We use a trauma-informed, relationship-led approach. You'll help implement strategies that focus on understanding behaviour, building trust, and supporting positive change rather than just reacting to challenges.
