Your role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our internal residential service. Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and mental health challenges? We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager to join our dynamic team at our children's home.
As Deputy Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care and support for our children. You will lead by example, providing guidance and support to our team of dedicated care staff, while actively participating in the care and development of the children.
You will assist the Manager in the overall management of the home, including staff supervision, budget management, and compliance with regulatory standards.
* You will support the registered manager in the recruitment, management and retention of a large workforce of day and waking night residential staff.
* Provide direct support and guidance to staff in the delivery of individualised care plans, tailored to meet the complex needs of each child.
* Foster a positive and nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, and supported in their personal growth and development.
* Collaborate with external agencies, families, and other professionals to ensure the holistic well-being of each child.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
About you:
NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent.
You will be a committed, enthusiastic individual with a proven track record of improving outcomes for vulnerable children with complex needs. You will have a solution-focused, positive attitude and hold an appropriate professional based qualification. You will support the registered manager to maintain the home whilst driving the service forward You will be passionate about continuous personal development and the development of your staff team.
You must have experience working with children in a residential setting or supporting children with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties and mental health challenges. You will have a compassionate and empathetic approach, with genuine desire strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others. You will have knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations governing children's residential care, and a commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children.
You will be flexible in your approach and maybe required to work evenings, weekends on a rota basis.
