Senior Planner – Project Management

The Role: To provide technical resource to develop, maintain and report on project programmes using Primavera and Microsoft Project.
Key responsibilities:
* Develop fully resourced and costed project programmes using standard company work breakdown structure against data provided by the project management team.
* Provide progress updates as required by each Project Manager in accordance with work instructions and to create reports on cost and schedule.
* Identify key variances on the project programmes and present the data in the form of reports and/or graphs.
* Provide prompt and accurate information to the Project Manager to facilitate the project programme trend information.
* Direct assistance to the Project Managers in the development of project programmes.
* Liaise with sub‑contractors, collate progress information and update the project programme.
* Check and verify invoices against work carried out.
* Preparing tender estimates.
* Undertake cost analysis for project work.
* Assist in establishing client requirements and undertake feasibility studies.
* Perform risk and value management and cost control.
* Advising on procurement strategy.
* Prepare and analyser costings for tenders.
* Allocate work to subcontractors.
* Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports.
* Value completed work and arrange payments.
* Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.
Person Specification:
* Qualifications: Project planning related qualification or 3 years industry experience.
* Experience & Knowledge: Design and engineering project experience; Use of Microsoft Project and Primavera.
* Skills & Abilities: Competent user of MS Office; Able to organise and prioritise own work; Flexible/adaptable approach; Work under pressure, retain accuracy and keep to tight deadlines; Communicate with a wide range of colleagues at all levels and with external stakeholders and contractors; Knowledge of ISO 9001 / 14001 & 45001.
