Role Overview The Transport Planner is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of customer orders, with the highest level of customer service. They form a team and have specific tasks to ensure this happens. Key Responsibilities Organise, build and plan customer orders to ensure on‑time / in‑full delivery. Ensure effective utilisation of Polypipe vehicles and source external contractors where required. Identify site requirements and take appropriate action, including booking in of loads. Liaise with internal departments regarding stock requirements. Communicate with the sales team regarding any potential delays to the delivery schedule. Despatch and process all required paperwork accurately and on time. Create and issue transport reports as required. Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external customers. Manage returns and collections, ensuring IFS is updated accurately and in real time. Assist with the integration and training of the Operations Admin Apprentice. Skills and Experience Previous experience of load planning. Geographical knowledge. A good standard of PC literacy. Ability to accurately complete paperwork. Proven ability to work well within a team. Willing and able to learn new skills.
