This secondment opportunity is for an Assistant Project Manager based in our Aylesbury office, co‑located with the Client team to support the ongoing development and expansion of Alliance Partnership. The role involves supporting the delivery of a ~£1m portfolio of drainage projects, focusing on financial aspects such as budgets, expenditures, and viability, and overseeing projects from start to finish to ensure they are delivered on time and within budget.
Your role
* Responsible for the financial management of a large portfolio of schemes.
* Provide high quality project and programme management standards.
* Advise the client at any time on project cost, programme, risks and issues.
* Maintain and develop excellent stakeholder and alliance relationships.
* Produce monthly reports including project programmes, spend profiles and risk registers.
* Implement effective and efficient communication tools.
* Positively influence the internal team and seek to add value.
Qualifications
* APMQ, PMP, Prince 2.
* Alternatively, a good track record of project management ideally across transportation schemes.
Essential Criteria
* Appropriate previous experience of working in this field with budgets of £2–£4 million per annum.
* Experience managing the financial aspect of a project.
* Experience in a consultancy is beneficial.
* Ability to work collaboratively and integrate into multi‑disciplinary teams.
* Ability to innovate and implement new ideas.
* Experience managing change.
* NEC 4 experience.
* Ability to use Microsoft Project.
* Experience in cost and revenue tracking and forecasting.
* Ability to report financial and progress information to a client audience.
* Ability to assess and resolve resource planning and coordination issues.
* Apply risk assessment and management principles and processes.
* Network effectively, negotiate well and influence people, broker relationships with stakeholders within and outside the project.
