Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialist
Responsibilities
* Assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidenced-based nursing care.
* Provide expert advice and clinical practice.
* Provide specialist education and training to others.
* Work collaboratively and co-operatively with clinical colleagues to develop services in order to deliver quality care.
* Support the development of clinical services within the specialist field in line with national and local guidance which includes the NHS Cancer Plan, Palliative and End of Life Care Strategy.
* Participate in a rota that provides seven day a week coverage (08:30 to 16:30).
* Provide specialist palliative care support and advice to patients, those important to them and to colleagues across settings.
* In collaboration with peers, plan, deliver and evaluate palliative and end of life care education across clinical areas.
* Participate in non-clinical activities such as local, regional and national audit; local and trust-wide implementation of the MFT Palliative and End of Life Care Strategy; and support the development of resources that enable staff to deliver high quality, evidence-based palliative and end of life care.
