EAL Teaching Assistant (Secondary School)

Spencer Clarke Group are working in partnership with a secondary school in Chorley to recruit an experienced EAL Teaching Assistant to cover a maternity leave.
This role is ideal for a Teaching Assistant with a strong background in EAL support who is confident working with secondary-aged pupils and supporting learners with English as an Additional Language to access the curriculum.
The Role:
* Providing targeted EAL support to pupils across the secondary curriculum
* Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
* Working alongside teaching staff to adapt resources and lesson content
* Supporting pupils' language development, comprehension, and confidence
* Monitoring progress and feeding back to teaching and support staff
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Previous experience supporting EAL learners within a school setting
* A TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, or equivalent EAL-related qualification
* Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in a secondary school
* Strong communication skills and a clear understanding of classroom expectations

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
