Service Care Solutions, are currently seeking a qualified Solicitor to join the Housing branch of the Scottish Government Legal Directorate (SGLD) on a fixed-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-profile and impactful work advising Scottish Ministers on housing and homelessness law. In this role, you will provide expert legal advice to Scottish Ministers on a broad range of housing and homelessness matters. You will play a key part in supporting the implementation of the Housing (Scotland) Act 2026, particularly the tenants’ rights provisions, as well as advising on homelessness legislation and the operation of the short-term lets licensing regime. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality legal advice on housing and homelessness law Support the implementation of tenants’ rights provisions under the Housing (Scotland) Act 2026 Advise on homelessness legislation and policy development Analyse complex information and legislation to inform decision-making About You To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate: Must be a Scottish qualified Solicitor.
