Learning Opportunities is a small independent special school catering for students with wide ranging needs. We follow a full range of curriculum subjects alongside numerous opportunities for learning outside the classroom, including forest school.
We are seeking to appoint a talented Curriculum Lead who is passionate about securing the best outcomes for even the most challenging students. The curriculum Lead will support senior leadership to design, lead, and quality-assure an inclusive, engaging, and accessible curriculum for learners aged 11–18 with a range of special educational needs, ensuring that teaching, learning, and assessment across the school meet pupils’ individual needs, promote independence, and support meaningful progress in preparation for adult life. The Curriculum Lead will work clolsey with the Head of School - Quality of Education, to promote and improve engagement in learning and enable pupils to make sustained progress.
The successful applicant will be able to lead and develop an inclusive, flexible curriculum that meets the needs of pupils with SEND, drawing on relevant leadership and teaching experience within a SEN or alternatie provision setting. You will have experience of adapting learning to support individual progress, working collaboratively with staff and external professionals, and ensuring curriculm provision is engaging, supportive, and purposeful. This role requires a clear understanding of how to balance academic learning with social, emotional, and developmental needs, enabling all pupils to achieve thier potential.
