An opportunity has arisen at RGU for a technical individual with attention to detail to join the Fundraising and Alumni Engagement Team. The purpose of the University’s Fundraising and Alumni Engagement Team is to build an engaged community of graduates and supporters with a strong affiliation for RGU. As part of the wider External Affairs function, the team also helps to enhance RGU’s profile, brand and reputation.
The post of Database Coordinator is fundamental to RGU’s fundraising and alumni engagement activity. With around 80,000 RGU graduate records, primary responsibilities will include maintenance, enhancement, and analysis of the alumni and fundraising database. In addition, the role will include gift processing and financial reporting and research and identification of fundraising prospects. Supporting the Head of Fundraising and Alumni Engagement, you will work closely with colleagues within Fundraising and Alumni Engagement, the academic schools, and key professional services departments.
This is an excellent opportunity for the right individual with experience of working with Raiser’s Edge or equivalent CRM database ideally within a fundraising department. Educated to secondary school Highers level (or equivalent) or with significant work-related experience, you will be a team player with first-rate organisational skills and an understanding of GDPR and how it impacts on database management. Experience of working for a charity or in higher education would be advantageous.

PURPOSE OF THE POST: Maintenance, enhancement, and analysis of the alumni and fundraising CRM database.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
* Overall responsibility for the daily management of Raiser’s Edge and associated NetCommunity including data processing, data cleansing, and producing queries and exports
* Develop best practice written procedures for database usage and management
* Provide internal database training when needed, manage user access and permissions, and deal with any database related enquiries
* Pledge chasing, gift processing and reporting including submission of Gift Aid claims
* Prospect and donor portfolio management
* Import of new graduate records
* Circulation of electronic and postal communications
* Data validation and enrichment working with a third-party provider
* Recording of consent and preference options in line with data protection law
