The Role We're looking for an experienced and dependable Commercial Gas Engineer to join a leading facilities management and building services provider. Working across a portfolio of secure government sites, this is a mobile position offering stability, fixed working hours, and a steady flow of both planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality service across a range of mechanical and heating systems, ensuring compliance, safety, and efficiency at all times.
Key Responsibilities Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on commercial gas, combustion, and heating systems.
Undertake new installations, repairs, and fault-finding work across client sites.
Support general building services maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
Participate in the on-call rota (approx. 1 in 9/10 weeks, £150 standby).
Maintain detailed records and ensure all tasks are completed to a high standard.
Comply with Health & Safety and site security requirements at all times.
About You
You'll be an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer with a background in building services or facilities management. You should be confident working independently, managing your own workload, and maintaining professionalism across client sites.
Essential Qualifications:
Commercial Gas: COCN1 or CODNC1, TPCP1A, ICPN1, CORT1, CIGA1
Domestic Gas: CCN1, CENWAT1, CPA1
City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing, HVAC, or Mechanical Engineering
Gas Safe Registered
Full UK Driving Licence
Package & Benefits £47,000 – £52,000 per annum
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
25 days annual leave + bank holidays
On-call rota (1 in 9/10 weeks, £150 standby)
