We’re working with a rapidly growing, private equity-backed group in the building services sector that’s on a mission to reshape how it manages contracts, risk, and commercial performance. They’ve grown to £42m turnover, manage 12,000+ live products, and have plans to expand that in the next 18 months through acquisitions and smarter commercial practices.
They’re now hiring a Commercial Manager to bring structure, clarity, and strategic thinking to how contracts are reviewed, negotiated, and managed across their national portfolio. This is a key functional role, reporting into the Sales Director and working closely with project teams, divisional directors, and stakeholders across the UK.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring commercial terms work for the business, identifying risk, spotting opportunities for margin improvement, and helping to implement better processes. This isn’t a QS role – it’s broader, strategic, and has clear potential to grow into a Commercial Director position.
Key responsibilities include:
* Reviewing and negotiating JCT, NEC, and DOM contracts
* Bringing structure to contract booking and commercial processes
* Collaborating with sales and delivery teams across the UK
* Identifying opportunities for commercial gain and smarter project delivery
* Helping shape the future of a commercially strong, investor-ready organisation
What we’re looking for:
* Strong construction industry background
* Solid understanding of JCT, NEC, and DOM contracts
* Experience in contract negotiation and commercial risk management
* Confidence to work independently and build internal relationships
* Ambition and commercial awareness with a long-term mindset
What’s on offer:
* Circa £80k package
* Bonus scheme (approx. 10%)
* Car allowance or company car
* Hybrid working and flexibility
* High exposure within a growing, private equity-backed business
* Real opportunity to develop into a senior leadership role
If you're looking to join a forward-thinking organisation where you can make a genuine impact and grow your commercial career, we’d love to hear from you.
