AI Engineer – AI & Innovation
Reports to: AI Lead.
Key Responsibilities
* Take ownership of end-to-end delivery of AI solutions, from opportunity identification and requirements gathering to design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing monitoring.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Marketing, IT, Sales, Distribution, Customer Service) to ensure solutions meet business needs and strategic objectives.
* Apply best practices in AI development, including robust testing, version control, and responsible AI implementation.
* Ensure all solutions comply with data governance, privacy and ethical standards, working with the Business Analyst and AI Lead to uphold regulatory requirements.
* Build solutions that drive efficiency, unlock insights and create measurable business impact.
* Support the definition and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) and OKRs for AI projects, in collaboration with the Business Analyst.
* Champion adoption of new AI solutions across the business, supporting training and transition activities and maximizing user engagement and impact.
* Facilitate change management and ensure successful implementation in partnership with the Business Analyst.
* Contribute to a culture of experimentation, continuous improvement and learning within the AI & Innovation team.
* Share knowledge and best practices across roles to foster team development.
* Monitor AI solutions in production, analyze performance, investigate root causes of issues to ensure ongoing reliability and effectiveness.
Required Skills & Competencies
* Proven experience delivering AI and innovation projects in a business context.
* Strong technical background in Data Science, Machine Learning and AI (including LLMs, agentic AI, and decision intelligence systems).
* Proficiency in Python and experience with platforms such as Databricks, OpenAI, GitHub and Copilot Studio.
* Experience with MLOps, cloud deployment (AWS/Azure) and model evaluation/selection.
* Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
* Strong problem-solving, analytical and project management skills.
Desirable Experience & Qualifications
* Experience in Life or Financial Services.
* Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and service design.
* Familiarity with AI ethics, regulatory requirements and responsible AI practices.
