We’re looking for a kind, patient, and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Smethwick this September. This is a full-time, long-term role supporting a small group of children with Autism (ASD). You’ll be working closely with them to help build confidence, develop communication and social skills, and support their learning in a way that suits their individual needs. What your role will involve: •Supporting a small group of pupils with ASD during lessons and activities •Helping to deliver structured routines and clear, consistent communication •Working with the class teacher and SENCO to follow tailored support plans •Encouraging positive interactions, independence, and emotional regulation •Creating a calm, inclusive, and engaging learning environment We’d love to hear from you if you: •Have previous school-based experience (essential) •Have experience working with children with SEN, especially ASD •Are calm, compassionate, and able to adapt to different needs and behaviours •Are a great communicator and team player •Have a DBS registered on the Update Service (or are willing to apply for one) This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a school that truly values the difference a great Teaching Assistant can make.
