Cover supervisor Location: Rotherham Salary Scale: £105 - £130 a Day Status: Day to day and long term About the Role: GSL Education are currently seeking to appoint a qualified and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to undertake a position at one of our client schools in Rotherham. When teachers are absent, cover supervisors are essential to keeping the educational process going in schools by making sure that students are supported and supervised so they can finish their education in a secure and productive setting. Role of a Cover Supervisor: Cover Supervisors manage the classroom environment in the absence of the regular teacher. They make sure that students follow the rules about behavior, stay in accordance with discipline, and participate in educational activities. Cover Supervisors implement pre-existing lesson plans and materials given by the absent teacher. Although they aren't tasked with teaching fresh content or giving direct instruction, they support learning by leading students through activities, addressing inquiries, and providing help when necessary. Cover Supervisors keep an eye on students' work during the course to make sure they stay on target and finish all of the tasks that are assigned. They may monitor behavior and handle any disruptions in addition to offering guidance and support to children who need it. Cover Supervisors are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure classroom environment, identifying and addressing any hazards or risks, and responding appropriately in emergency situations. The successful candidate will: Have previous experience working as a Cover Supervisor within an educational setting and Educated to Degree level, essential Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. Demonstrate empathy, patience, and resilience when working with students facing academic or behavioral challenges.
