Clinical Lead for Oncology Occupational Therapy & Physiotherapy
We are excited to be advertising for the role of Clinical Lead for Oncology Occupational Therapy & Physiotherapy at St Bartholomew's. This position has a key clinical leadership and management role. The post holder, alongside a second lead, will support and manage the Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists within the Barts Cancer Centre through inpatients, outpatients and prehabilitation.

Main duties of the job
* Act as clinical lead for Barts Cancer Centre Occupational Therapists & Physiotherapists
* Lead in setting and delivering an innovative strategy for Cancer Occupational Therapy & Physiotherapy at St Barts Hospital
* Provide expert clinical assessment, treatment, prognosis and advice to a highly complex and diverse range of patients within the Barts Cancer service
* Act as a highly skilled and expert acute clinical resource to other therapists at St Barts Hospital site as well as wider stakeholders within the division, site and trust
* Work with the other Lead Therapists across the Trust, advising on professional and clinical issues where relevant
* Be responsible for the planning, coordination, delivery, evaluation and support of the occupational therapy and physiotherapy service for the Barts Cancer Team
* Deputise and support the Deputy Head of Therapies and Head of Therapies as required
* Ensure effective communication within own team, across speciality and all other appropriate professional groups
* Alongside the head and deputy head of therapies responsible for own budget
* Be responsible for the development of a comprehensive training needs analysis for team
* Contribute to the development of clinical services in line with patient need, identified by audits, PPI and recent evidence‑based research
* Take a role in identifying research needs within specialist area on the SBH site

Experience
Essential
* Clinical experience of a wide range of oncology and haematology services including rehabilitation and end of life care
* Clinical experience of managing patients with neurological conditions and cancer
* Experience of managing senior and junior staff, students and assistants
* Experience of successfully leading and implementing service improvement and change projects
Desirable
* Experience of managing a budget
* Experience in performance reviews, including collecting and analysing relevant data and presenting to members of the leadership team
* Experience of risk and incident management

* HCPC registration
