Job Description

Are you passionate about using data to improve outcomes for people and communities in Scotland?

In this new and exciting role, you’ll will be responsible for developing national data sets to help support a better understanding of the needs of people and communities affected by violence, abuse and trauma, and the impact of the work taking place to address those needs. This will include: collecting, collating, analysing and reporting on data, evidence and intelligence; identifying key trends and findings; and exploring the most effective and accessible ways to present them to key stakeholders.

You will work collaboratively with a range of local and national partners including local authorities, the Scottish Government, COSLA, NHS Education for Scotland, Public Health Scotland and third sector partners to ensure a joined-up approach is taken to collecting, analysing and applying data and intelligence to drive forward improvements at a local and national level.

Key Skills & Experience

* Experience in gathering and analysing quantitative and qualitative data.
* Experience in communicating data and intelligence to a range of audiences, in an accessible way.
* Excellent communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to work constructively with partners who may have different data needs and requirements.
* Ability to organise and prioritise workload, multi-task and work to deadlines.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who is passionate about using data and intelligence to help drive forward improved outcomes for people affected by violence, abuse and trauma in Scotland. You’ll be confident in collecting, collating, analysing and reporting on different data sets –producing high quality learning outputs that are accessible for different stakeholders.

While previous experience in providing data & intelligence support to projects working with vulnerable people and communities is desirable, we would welcome applications from candidates who are interested in working across a range of projects and gaining new knowledge, skills and experience.

You should:

* Have excellent numerical skills and be experienced in data collection, collation and analysis
* Be confident at using data and intelligence to identify trends, and communicating learning in an accessible and engaging way
* Be highly organised, and able to work across multiple projects, prioritising your workload and meeting deadlines
* Comfortable working independently and collaboratively, with a flexible and solutions-focused mindset
* Experienced in producing high-quality written reports, presentations and other learning outputs.

Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, statistical software or programming languages would be highly advantageous for this post.
