Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking a passionate Support Worker to join our team in Belper, Derbyshire.
As a Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals we support with learning disabilities. You will work with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs, assisting with daily activities and providing emotional support.
Belper Community Support covers four locations within a mile of each other. The service supports nine individuals to live as independently as possible within their own homes, helping with domestic tasks, finances, medication, community access, appointments, and teaching life skills such as cooking and budgeting.
Responsibilities
Within the Belper Community Support service, you will:
* Assist with basic domestic tasks and maintaining homes, including budgeting and finances where needed.
* Support individuals to access the local community and attend appointments.
* Provide emotional support and foster independence by teaching life skills such as cooking and budgeting.
* Help individuals to live as independently as possible within their own homes.
What we're looking for
* A genuine passion for supporting others.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.

Salary and benefits:
* £12.21 per hour + excellent Mencap benefits
* £12.60 per hour + excellent employee benefits
* £23,809 per annum, pro rata + excellent benefits
