Required at Thrive Childcare and Education in Scotland. Full Time (40 hours). Salary: £50,000 Per Annum + £5,000 Car Allowance. We’re looking for a passionate People Partner to join our People Team at Thrive Childcare and Education. In this role, you’ll work closely with leaders across our 22 nurseries in Scotland, spanning Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirlingshire and up to Aberdeenshire, to shape and deliver a people strategy that supports exceptional childcare. You’ll balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, with a strong focus on safeguarding, recruitment and retention, and promoting staff wellbeing across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
* Strategic People Partnering: Act as a trusted advisor to leaders, shaping and delivering people strategies that drive engagement, performance and retention.
* Safeguarding & Compliance: Lead on safer recruitment and regulatory compliance, working with external bodies (e.g. OFSTED, Care Inspectorate, SSSC) to embed safeguarding into everyday practice.
* Employee Relations: Manage complex ER cases, providing expert, consistent and legally compliant advice to managers.
* Recruitment & Retention: Develop creative recruitment and retention approaches to attract, retain and deploy high-quality staff, ensuring legal ratios and clear career pathways.
* Talent, Learning & Succession: Identify skills gaps and support impactful learning, leadership development and succession planning across nursery teams.
* Policy, Process & Best Practice: Create and maintain people policies and processes that are legally compliant, fit for purpose and aligned with sector best practice.
* Insight, Wellbeing & Culture: Use people data to inform decisions while championing wellbeing, inclusion and a positive culture that supports mental health and reduces burnout.
Qualifications
You will hold a CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience), with Level 7 desirable, and bring proven generalist HR experience at business partner or senior advisory level, ideally within a multi-site or fast-paced environment. Strong knowledge of UK employment law and safeguarding is essential, with experience in education or early years an advantage. You will have excellent communication and coaching skills, strong analytical capability, and the emotional resilience to handle sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion. A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel between nursery sites is required. The role carries a strong commitment to safeguarding; an enhanced Disclosure check will be required.
