Job Description
We are seeking an experienced EHS Manager to support and drive Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) excellence at our Little Waltham site. This is a highly visible, hands-on role where you will work closely with operations and leadership teams to embed a proactive safety culture and ensure full compliance with UK legislation and ADM standards.
Key Responsibilities
Safety, Health & Environmental Management
1. Partner with the EHS Centre of Excellence (CoE) to deploy ADM’s SHE strategy with a goal of zero harm
2. Drive behavioural safety culture through effective training and engagement initiatives
3. Identify training needs and develop structured learning pathways across disciplines
4. Deliver SHE training programs for employees and contractors
Compliance & Risk Management
5. Ensure compliance with UK regulations and ADM standards across all departments
6. Lead risk management activities including DSEAR and fire safety compliance and Permit to Work systems and Life Critical Standards
7. Support development and review of Risk Assessments, Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Equipment-specific Lock Out procedures (ESLPs)
8. Coordinate statutory inspections (, pressure systems, fall arrest)
9. Conduct regular site audits, inspections, and field-based safety interactions
Management Systems & Incident Investigation
10. Maintain and improve SHE management systems and reporting tools
11. Analyse data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement
12. Support incident investigations using root cause analysis methodologies
13. Ensure timely implementation of corrective actions
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
14. Collaborate with the UK Area H&S Manager and site leadership teams
15. Provide expert SHE advice across the site
16. Build strong relationships with Internal ADM sites and EHS networks, as well as External bodies (, Environment Agency, emergency services)
Qualifications & Experience
17. Recognised Health & Safety qualification ()
18. Degree in Health & Safety, Engineering, or equivalent experience
19. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or production environment
20. Strong knowledge of Risk assessments, method statements, and permit systems, Mechanical & Electrical processes and Combustible dust hazards and hazardous area classification
21. Environmental qualification (desirable)
22. Experience in auditing and compliance systems
