Permanent Kitchen Assistant
Location: Near Winchester, Hampshire (rural – own transport required)
Salary: From £25,000 per annum (higher DOE), based on £12.82
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm (37.5 hours per week). Occasional weekend work may be required for a higher hourly rate.
Our client, a well-established and unique educational campus set within 39 acres of beautiful South Downs countryside, is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join their friendly and supportive catering team.
The kitchen prepares fresh, nutritious vegetarian meals daily, with a focus on quality ingredients, including home-grown produce wherever possible.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a stable, primarily weekday role with no evening shifts. The position also offers scope for progression for more experienced candidates.
The Role
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen. Duties will include:
* Assisting with food preparation
* Supporting cooking and meal service (depending on experience)
* Maintaining kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards
* Assisting during service periods
* Ensuring high levels of food safety compliance
Full training will be provided for entry-level candidates. Applicants with previous kitchen or cooking experience may have the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities.
Candidate Requirements
We are looking for individuals who are:
* Positive, proactive, and have a “can-do” attitude
* Reliable and punctual
* Able to work effectively within a small, close-knit team
* In possession of a full UK driving licence and own vehicle (essential due to rural location)
Previous kitchen experience is desirable but not essential.

* Starting salary from £25,000 per annum (£12.82 per hour equivalent)
