HSEQ Manager – Structural Steelwork

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced HSEQ Manager to join a specialist structural steel and fabrication organisation delivering complex engineering and construction projects across the UK.
This role is suited to a proactive Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality professional with strong experience within construction, structural steelwork, or fabrication environments.
The Role
You will take responsibility for leading and developing all HSEQ activities across multiple structural steel projects, fabrication operations, and site-based installations.
Working closely with project, site, and senior management teams, you will ensure compliance with legislation, industry standards, and company procedures while promoting a strong safety culture across all operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Leading Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality strategy across projects and operations
* Ensuring compliance with UK legislation, ISO standards, and industry best practice
* Conducting site audits, inspections, and risk assessments
* Investigating incidents, near misses, and implementing corrective actions
* Developing and delivering HSEQ training and toolbox talks
* Supporting project teams with method statements and RAMS
* Driving continuous improvement across safety and quality performance
* Liaising with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies where required
* Maintaining accurate HSEQ documentation, reporting, and KPI tracking
* Promoting a positive safety culture across fabrication and site operations
Requirements
* Proven experience in an HSEQ Manager or similar role within construction, structural steel, or fabrication environments
* Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001)
* Experience working across both fabrication workshops and site-based installation projects
* NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) essential
* Strong auditing, reporting, and investigation skills
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
* Ability to influence and drive behavioural safety culture
* Full UK driving licence required
