*Overview*A small, busy nursery is seeking a dedicated and passionate second Deputy Manager to be part of a small team helping to lead the nursery and ensure a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for children. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills, a strong background in early childhood education, and the ability to effectively manage staff alongside fostering positive relationships with children and their families.*Duties** Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and best practices in childcare.* Assist in leading and supporting a team of childcare professionals, providing guidance for development and training.* Foster strong relationships with parents and guardians through effective communication, regular updates, and involvement in nursery activities.* Ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children, staff, and visitors.* Monitor children's progress and development through regular assessments and observations.* Assist in managing nursery budgets, resources, and supplies efficiently to ensure smooth operations.*Requirements** Proven leadership experience within a nursery environment.* A Full and Relevant Childcare Qualification.* Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and practices.* Experience of working with children in a nurturing capacity is essential.* Excellent communication skills.* Ability to motivate staff while fostering a collaborative team atmosphere.* Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.* A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.Job Types: Part-time, PermanentPay: From £13.80 per hourExpected hours: No less than 30 per weekBenefits:* Additional leave* Company events* Company pension* Employee discountEducation:* GCSE or equivalent (preferred)Experience:* Nursery: 2 years (required)Work Location: In personReference ID: DM2025Expected start date: 05/01/2026
