If you enjoy variety in your work, we are offering an exciting opportunity to join the Dorchester & West Locality business support team. This team provides administrative support to a range of operational services supporting local families. You will work alongside supportive colleagues helping to achieve the best outcomes for residents, communities and businesses across the county.


What You Can Expect To Be Doing

You will be part of a team of business support colleagues. The role involves providing high‑quality business support to operational staff within Children’s Services. The role supports the digital transformation of services where appropriate and beneficial, embracing change and adopting new ways of working. You will speak to and communicate with external partners, wider council services, operational staff and residents, so effective communication skills – spoken and written – are essential, including an excellent telephone manner. The position is based in one of our Locality Offices and involves a range of administrative tasks supporting service delivery.


About You

We are seeking proactive and motivated individuals who can prioritise work, meet deadlines using initiative within set guidelines. Attention to detail and accuracy are key, along with an understanding of the need for confidentiality, as much information is sensitive. Good IT skills, especially Microsoft Word and Excel, are essential; training will be provided for our in‑house systems. A flexible approach to working, with a minimum of one day a week in the office or more when required, is expected.

Additional Conditions

This full‑time role is 37 hours per week. It requires access to sensitive information and will be subject to a Basic Criminal Records Check. See our policy on the employment of ex‑offenders and our safeguarding policy.
