The CompanyFinance Manager - Office-based - Growing Multi-Entity SME GroupI’m delighted to be supporting a privately owned, multi-entity SME group in the search for a Finance Manager. This is a highly autonomous role suited to someone who thrives in a varied environment, enjoys hands-on management accounting, and wants to play a key part in improving financial clarity, controls and reporting.The RoleYou’ll be the lead finance contact across several legally distinct businesses, overseeing all management accounting, VAT returns, budgeting and forecasting. Key Responsibilities
* Management Accounting & Compliance
o Prepare quarterly management accounts for each business
o Complete quarterly VAT returns across all entities
o Manage annual budgets, re-forecasts, cashflow and modelling
o Produce KPI and cost reporting, highlighting trends, variances and cost saving opportunities
* Financial Oversight & Controls
o Oversee transactional finance completed by the admin team (AP, AR, bank reconciliation, invoicing)
o Review, consolidate and ensure accuracy of all financial information
o Work closely with the owners and external accountants on technical queries and year-end
* Process Improvement
o Standardise reporting, controls and financial processes across the group
o Enhance the quality, timeliness and insightfulness of management information
o Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities
The Person
* Qualified by experience or part/fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
* Solid background in SME finance, owning end-to-end management accounts
* Strong experience in VAT returns, budgeting, forecasting and cost analysis
* Comfortable working across multiple entities with differing operational models
* Skilled in Excel and confident adopting new systems
* Strong communication skills — able to explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
