Talent Guardian is on the lookout for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join an innovative and growing food manufacturing team based in Widnes. This is a key standalone role where you’ll report directly to the Managing Director, as well as Finance and Operations Managers—giving you real influence on the production floor.
You’ll work hands-on across a range of machinery, from legacy equipment like Hammac Hansella to modern Klick Lock systems. Your mission? Keep things running smoothly, solve problems fast, and continuously improve operations.

Troubleshoot and repair PLC and electrical faults to minimise downtime
Service and maintain pneumatic systems (e.g., air pistons, solenoids) and mechanical components (e.g., gearboxes, bearings)
Carry out welding and fabrication tasks for repairs and upgrades
Install and commission new equipment
Maintain and optimise VFFS machines
Ensure maintenance activities meet BRC and SALSA standards
Take ownership of technical specs and lead process improvement initiatives What we’re looking for:
Experience in FMCG or food manufacturing environments
Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding ability—PLC knowledge is essential
Proven skills with pneumatic systems and mechanical maintenance
Confident in welding and fabrication work
Committed to quality, with a solid understanding of BRC/SALSA compliance
