You will be involved in varied areas of civil engineering: major earthworks, drainage, structures (under-bridges, over-bridges, viaducts) and energy sector projects. The apprenticeship includes day release to university to gain a degree in civil engineering, professional membership qualifications, and on-the-job training. Civil Engineers' Apprentices support Civil Engineers who design, build and manage construction projects with our design teams.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the control of sites to ensure work is conducted safely, effectively and to the correct quality and standards.
* Understand and integrate design information to ensure it is fit for purpose.
* Assist and contribute to planning and setting up of work sites.
* Assist in the monitoring and control of contract works and understand how to implement corrective action when required.
* Assist in the preparation of material requirements, prepare orders, monitor supply and maintain records.
Education & Training
Day release to university to gain a BSc in Civil Engineering. The apprenticeship also supports a block release at Exeter University, A Level or equivalent qualifications (e.g., Maths grade 7 or above, A Levels 104 to 120 UCAS, T Level with Distinction, BTEC Extended Diploma). The programme is customised to build on existing knowledge and industry experience.
