Description
An award-winning leader in the UK property and construction industry working across civil engineering, construction and facilities management seeks a solicitor to work as part of a small and supportive legal team. You will advise senior stakeholders on legal matters across a range of construction, civil engineering and services.
Responsibilities
* In this position you will review, negotiate and advise upon terms for construction or civil engineering such as NEC and JCT forms as well as identifying risks
* Draft and negotiate consultant appointments, novation agreements, collateral warranties, subcontracts and bond documentation
* Advise and manage disputes in and outside court
* You may also advise on general commercial contracts and issues such as provision of facility management services, data protection and bribery and corruption
* Analyse and report on legislative changes and provide support on corporate governance
We are looking for
* Solicitor admitted in the UK
* Our client will consider junior or more experienced candidates and work will be aligned accordingly
* Some knowledge of the construction and civil engineering sector is preferred
* Experience of construction contracts such as NEC and bespoke terms required
* You will possess strong drafting and communication skills as well as attention to detail
* A commercially astute lawyer with decision making and problem-solving skills is essential
* Sound IT skills
