Academics are working with a fantastic primary specialist school in Chippenham that supports children aged 4-11 with autism and related communication needs. The school is seeking a dedicated Autism Support Assistant to join their welcoming team ASAP on a full-time basis. As an Autism Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils' learning, emotional wellbeing, and personal development throughout the school day

Role: Autism Support Assistant
Pay: £85-100 per day (based on experience)
Location: Chippenham
Hours: Full-time (08:30-15:00, Term-time only)
Start Date: ASAPDaily Responsibilities of an autism support assistant:
Supporting pupils with autism to access the curriculum in a way that meets their individual needs
Encouraging the development of communication, social, and life skills
Promoting independence and helping children to build confidence in the classroom
Assisting with sensory regulation and emotional wellbeing throughout the day
Working closely with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure consistent, high-quality support
Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child can thriveYou'd make a great Autism Support Assistant if you:
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Can work effectively as part of a team and independently when required
Remain calm, empathetic, and adaptable in challenging situations
Have a minimum of a grade C / level 4 in GCSE English and Maths
Have previous experience working with children (preferred but not essential)
