What's involved with this role: Job Title: Response Surveyor Ref: ATR 5276146 Pay rate: £20.98 per hour PAYE Role length: Anticipated 6 months Additional requirement: Driving Licence The role: We are looking for a Response Surveyor to cover the Devon and Cornwall areas. You will mostly work alone out in the community but there’s a team available for support. Key responsibilities: Lead and manage the delivery of responsive, planned, and cyclical maintenance services within your region Ensure the highest levels of service quality and customer satisfaction, in line with best practice and value for money Respond proactively to customer complaints and feedback, ensuring timely resolution Contribute to continuous service improvement, reviewing and refining delivery in partnership with fellow Contracts Managers Undertake domestic and commercial building surveys, diagnosing defects and recommending remedial works Produce detailed technical reports with cost estimates and method statements Provide guidance on legislative matters including Building Regulations, Fire Safety, HHSRS, and Party Wall Act compliance Support and mentor colleagues in technical surveying, repair methods, procurement and the use of specialist equipment Oversee all contractor activity within your portfolio, ensuring compliance with standards and statutory requirements Monitor supplier performance, manage risk, and ensure contractual obligations are met with regards to quality, cost and time Work closely with the Finance Team to manage budgets and produce accurate management reports Maintain robust records for audit and compliance purposes, and contribute to performance benchmarking and supplier reviews What the client is looking for: Relevant technical (HNC or higher) qualification in Building, Surveying, Planning or similar technical field or significant experience working in the construction industry RICS or CIOB membership Previous experience of working in social housing Excellent time management skills and experienced in working to deadlines, and managing their own time and workload Knowledgeable in current methods, standards and initiatives relating to repair and refurbishment of residential dwellings Management Skills Training and/ or accreditation Project management skills Contract administration skills including accounting processes Experience of supervising maintenance and improvements programmes and contracts in occupied dwellings Experience of carrying out structural surveys and preparing subsequent reports Working knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation with particular reference to the building and construction sector Up to date knowledge of The Party Wall Act/HHSRS legislation and current Building Regulations Risk management skills How to Apply: Quote the Job Title and Reference Number in your application.
