We are recruiting a General Production Operative to join our team based in Disley. This role is on a days shift, 8 hours, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Please be mindful that within the tissue mill environment you may encounter humidity, puddles from water residue, and a scent from wastewater extraction. We minimise this as much as reasonably possible, and we remain committed to our Zero Harm by Choice guiding principle.
About The Role
To provide the mill with general operative support to meet site standards, maintain product consistency, ensure equipment reliability, maximise factory output, and comply with group policies. To operate the facility in execution of all operational tasks on a day-to-day basis, including logistics, materials handling, small maintenance tasks, and operating specific equipment to the required standards.
Responsibilities
* Operating and monitoring machinery to ensure production runs smoothly and efficiently.
* Maintain operating costs through auditing and controlling against centreline settings.
* Keep accurate records of production output and downtime and work as a team to reach output targets.
* Operation of FLT, Clamp truck, Skid-steer and MEWP (Cherry Picker).
* Undertake routine maintenance and cleaning of the machinery, including FLT checks against the daily checklist.
* Adhere to quality, health, and safety procedures and regulations.
* Troubleshoot day-to-day issues.

Requirements
Essential to the role
* Basic IT skills & Microsoft Office use
* Excellent problem-solving ability
* Good communication skills
* Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
Preferred
* 5 GCSEs at grade C or above
* Previous experience operating FLT, Clamp truck, Skid-steer and MEWP (Cherry Picker) - training will be provided
