We are looking for a talented and experienced ICT Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Lead to join our dynamic team.

As a member of the ICT Enterprise Applications Team, the post holder is responsible for working with ICT Business partners and key stakeholders in both clinical and non-clinical departments to identify and develop automation solutions to move away from manual processes, as well as managing and maintaining automation tools


Main duties of the job

• Coordinate and lead in developing, implementing, managing, maintaining, and updating the automation of manual processes throughout the Trust.
• Lead the full engagement with Trust staff to ensure automation services are delivered in a timely fashion to meet the requirements of the clinical and corporate business.
• Act as the Subject Matter Expert for the RPA tools used within the Trust.
• Provide expert consultancies for all potential automation opportunities.
• Analyse automation feasibility to all workflows, including high-impact or critical areas, and advise key stakeholders on the suitability of automation.
• Provide specialist process mapping and process redesign expertise.
• Work with key stakeholders to design and develop new robotic automation processes that meet the business and clinical requirements of the Trust.
• Ensure requirements and solutions are documented and maintenance tasks are handed over to first-line support/BAU as appropriate.
• Work with the Change Manager to ensure that all new automation processes are carefully brought into production.
• Identify root causes and failures in both the automation tools and the defined processes to resolve problems and implement permanent fixes

Skills/Abilities


Essential criteria

* Excellent communicator able to prioritise and plan work to ensure the minimum impact on patients and staff, with the ability to communicate with staff at all levels in the organisation, including clinical staff, managerial staff and senior/board level executives, as well as with external suppliers
* Exceptional leadership qualities with the ability to lead, manage and motivate disparate groups into achieving a common goal
* Exceptional negotiating and influencing skills, able to influence, negotiate and motivate senior clinical staff, medical consultants and/or other senior managers
* Able to facilitate meetings at senior level, resolve conflicts, maintain issues lists and work to a project plan
* Ability to translate complex user requirements into sound application development plans;
* Able to prioritise tasks to achieve deadlines whilst working under workload pressures and with frequent interruptions
* High level abilities at software development, including use of programming languages and other development tools ( Blue Prism)


Experience/Knowledge


Essential criteria

* Extensive technical experience gained within a busy IT operations department
* Extensive knowledge of clinical, administrative and/or operational workflows and processes within a hospital environment
* Excellent knowledge of analysing user requirements, developing appropriate automated solutions
* Expert knowledge of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) in particular Blue Prism experience
* Expert knowledge of implementation and deployment supporting business operations and change
* Expert knowledge and experience of working with Power Automate
* Excellent managerial or strategic based operational or clinical knowledge of hospital departments including knowledge of relevant operational policies and procedures.
* Expert understanding of Information Governance, SOPs and other governance, national and professional standards of practice or other regulations


Desirable criteria

* Experience of project management using the PRINCE2 methodology
* Experience of working in an ITIL IT Service Management organisation ensuring ITIL processes are followed
* Extensive knowledge of clinical, administrative and/or operational workflows and processes within a hospital environment


Academic/Professional qualification/Training


Essential criteria

* Postgraduate Degree or equivalent (demonstrable experience in a similar IT position)


Desirable criteria

* Postgraduate IT qualification
* Project management qualification eg PRINCE II, Agile
* ITIL Foundation Qualification
