John Sisk & Son are a family‑owned international construction company offering trust, certainty and value to clients as we lead change in the Life Science and Pharma sectors. We need a Contracts Manager to join our Life Science team in Manchester.
Responsibilities
\
* Preconstruction: Prepare programme, method statements and submissions; produce contract programme; liaise with QS and Estimating; chair start‑up & production meetings; manage sub‑contract buying schedule.
* Construction & Design: Lead all project team functions including PEP, risk & commercial success, financials, processes, HSEQS, stakeholder management, project administration, design management & close‑out; ensure H&S skills; manage consultant & sub‑contract design and BIM strategy; implement Project Execution Plan and HSE & Quality plan.
* Post‑Construction: Obtain defect list, remedy items and secure Certificate of Making Good Defects; instruct QS in Loss & Expense Applications and Final Account; control operating budgets; authorise expenditure, appoint & change sub‑contractors, sign off monthly reports; provide commercial analytics; maintain contractual knowledge (JCT, NEC3, BREEAM/LEED) and pharma campus experience.
Qualifications & Skills
* Professional construction qualification – preferably Chartered.
* Extensive end‑to‑end programme management experience.
* Strong commercial awareness, analytical and methodical approach.
* People, performance management and team‑building skills.
* Knowledge of IOSH or equivalent H&S management training; Temporary Works & Excavation Safety; Permitting for live energy works; Working at Heights & Scaffolding Lifting & Cranage operations.
* Contracts management experience with JCT/NEC3 and BREEAM/LEED.
* Experience working on live pharma campuses.
