An opportunity has arisen to join the Site Operations Team at Bedford Hospital as a Clinical Site Manager.
The Operations Centre oversees the coordination of site operations across the Trust, managing capacity and patient flow while providing senior clinical leadership out of hours.
The Clinical Site Manager plays a key role in managing day‑to‑day site activity across the Trust, offering senior clinical support and coordinating workforce resources during the out‑of‑hours period.
The post holder will have the knowledge, skills and experience to recognise early indicators that may impact patient pathways and take appropriate action to resolve pressures, ensuring patient safety and experience remain central.
This role requires strong leadership, effective problem‑solving abilities, excellent interpersonal skills and the capacity to work well under pressure.

Main duties of the job
1. Coordinate day‑to‑day capacity and patient flow across the Trust.
2. Manage admissions through emergency and urgent pathways, using clinical assessment skills to ensure appropriate patient placement.
3. Monitor operational pressures, identify early triggers that may impact flow, and implement escalation plans as required.
4. Support the achievement of corporate priorities and key performance targets for both emergency and elective care.
5. Work collaboratively with out‑of‑hours teams, including outreach services and medical leads.
6. Undertake clinical skills and extended duties in line with professional competence, training, NMC standards and Trust guidelines to support high‑quality patient care.
7. Attend and assist with medical emergencies during out‑of‑hours periods.
8. Provide senior clinical leadership out of hours, offering expert support to staff and promoting a patient‑centred approach to care.
9. Act as the Senior Nurse Bleep Holder (309).
10. Coordinate workforce deployment across the Trust out of hours, ensuring safe staffing levels in all clinical areas.

·To take initial actions to ensure safeguarding standards are maintained by taking appropriate actions and escalating accordingly
