Methods Development Engineer - Submarines
Full Time Derby, Raynesway. Rolls-Royce has an excellent opportunity for a Methods Development Engineer to join our Submarines Business in Derby. As a methods development engineer, you will actively develop methods which increase the availability and safety of components in-service. This involves leading the entire development life-cycle, including:
1. Preliminary literature reviews to generate hypotheses
2. Physical testing to provide validation
3. Reporting and obtaining regulatory approval
4. Implementation of the developed methods as quality assured software

The component methods team comprises engineering and software developers from diverse backgrounds working within an agile framework to generate innovative software and methods solutions. These activities span structural integrity and thermal hydraulic fields, with opportunities to collaborate with academia and participate in international conferences.

Ideal candidates will possess skills in:
* Software development, preferably Python
* Structural integrity analysis
* Material modeling of polycrystalline materials
* Thermal hydraulic analysis
* Literature distillation for engineering methods development
* Probabilistic and statistical analysis
Desirable experience includes DevOps, industrial codes such as R6, ASME, and Finite Element Analysis.
