We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Band 6 Operating Department Practitioner/Anaesthetic Nurse to join our perioperative team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safe and effective care of patients undergoing surgical procedures. You will be working collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

4. Experience working in a busy UK surgical or perioperative environment, preferably at Band 5 level or equivalent.

Main duties of the job
8. Provide skilled assistance to clinicians and other members of the theatre
9. To deliver support and care to the required standards as directed within the specific clinical
10. Provide a service to all areas of the Trust where specifically related equipment or techniques are used.
11. Respond positively to unplanned activities outside of normal
12. Plan work in advance to ensure deadlines are met.
13. Act as a senior practitioner supporting and mentoring junior ODPs and other theatre staff.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Band 6 Operating Department Practitioner to join our perioperative team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safe and effective care of patients undergoing surgical procedures. You will be involved in anaesthetic and perioperative care, working collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, maintain, and manage the operating theatre environment to ensure patient safety and compliance with infection control standards.
Assist with anaesthetic procedures and monitor patients throughout surgery.
Provide expert care in the recovery phase post-surgery, assessing and responding to patient needs.
Act as a senior practitioner supporting and mentoring junior ODPs and other theatre staff.
Contribute to continuous service improvement and participate in audits and training initiatives.

16. Basic Life Support Course
