Vehicle Technician Required in Strood, Kent

2. Salary: Up to £42,000 Basic - £50,000 OTE
3. Hours: Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm, Saturday rota 8am – 1pm

Our client, a highly regarded independent garage and fleet maintenance provider, is based in the Rochester area and specialises in Jaguar and Land Rover (JLR) vehicles. They are known for their exceptional reputation in the local area, particularly for their DPF cleaning services and high-quality repairs. They are now looking to recruit an experienced Service Technician to join their expert team.

Duties of a Service Technician:
10. Perform diagnostics and complex Level 2/3 repairs, focusing on JLR vehicles and others in the fleet:
11. Level 2 repairs: Brake pad and disc replacements, suspension adjustments, battery replacements, air conditioning repairs
12. Level 3 repairs: Engine diagnostics and repairs, transmission repairs, turbo replacements, advanced electrical fault diagnosis, and airbag system repairs
13. Conduct thorough vehicle health checks and provide expert assessments on any additional repairs needed
14. Work closely with the service team to ensure timely and high-quality servicing for customer vehicles
15. DPF cleaning and maintenance, which is a key service of the garage, especially for high-performance vehicles
16. Use diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately assess and fix complex faults
What our client expects from their Service Technician:
17. Experience in vehicle diagnostics, maintenance, and Level 2/3 repairs, with Jaguar Land Rover knowledge being highly desirable
18. Qualified to at least NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent
19. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy and high-paced workshop
20. Full UK driving license
21. A keen eye for detail and a proactive attitude towards learning new systems and technologies
