Overview
As Project Manager you will lead projects to deliver the agreed requirements, within timescale, cost and quality constraints. You will manage large projects and engage with senior level stakeholders to ensure successful completion.
Responsibilities
* Planning and Estimating: Lead the planning for projects – including project plans, resource plans and financial forecasts; undertake resource planning; oversee the production of estimates for projects and validate estimates provided by other portfolios, horizontals and third parties; ensure estimates cover all identified work and represent value for money for IT.
* Delivery: Lead the delivery of projects within timescale, cost and quality constraints; manage and record progress in the PMO/PPM tool, including actual and forecast costs, resource forecasts and budgets; ensure projects meet agreed business customer requirements; ensure adherence to change control for timescales, cost, requirements or design with proper documentation.
* Process and Quality: Apply IT project delivery methodology and processes; identify issues and opportunities for continuous improvement; understand and apply IT Agile and Waterfall frameworks and select the most appropriate approach with stakeholders; ensure projects comply with IT governance frameworks.
* Finance, Analysis and Reporting: Produce and maintain financial forecasts by tracking budgets, actuals and invoices; account for variances; ensure costs are incurred against approved funds and orders are closed promptly after final invoices; provide up-to-date project reports in line with PMO standards for visibility to Portfolio/Delivery/PMO.
* Business Engagement and Stakeholder Management: Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and IT teams; develop communications plans to engage key stakeholders and secure ongoing commitment to project success.
* Leadership: Lead virtual teams drawn from across IT, partners and third parties; ensure the team has appropriate resources, roles and skills; provide coaching, guidance and motivation.
Qualifications
* Experience managing the complete delivery of IT projects.
* Experience with a relevant IT project delivery methodology and processes.
* Experience leading a team.
Desirable skills
* Experience managing projects with a mixed onshore/offshore team.
* Experience delivering information security projects and programmes with a basic understanding of information security concepts.
