Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our small coffee shop / cafe in Oundle. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and production, alongside excellent customer service skills, creating delicious and innovative dishes while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. Duties
* Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient food production.
* Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to the restaurant's menu and standards.
* Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure effective team management.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations.
* Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary.
* Train new kitchen staff in food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and safety practices.
* Ensure all dishes are presented beautifully before serving to guests.
Skills
* Proven experience in a culinary role with a strong focus on food preparation and cooking.
* Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
* Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality.
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation.
* Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
* Culinary experience that showcases creativity in menu development.
* Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, along with familiarity with various cooking techniques.
