Hales Group is recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer on behalf of our client based in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, to join the team initially on a temporary basis for approximately 6-12 months. Responsibilities: Support with Design and Testing: Assist with the design, testing, and management of testing fixtures for a new product range. Productivity Improvement Projects: Design, develop, test, and manage supplier activity to improve productivity. Manufacturing Engineering Development: Improve production efficiency and coordinate external supply contractors. Improvement Programs: Create and define parameters for manufacturing improvement programs and ensure standards are maintained. Advice and Training: Provide training on process deployment, new tooling design, technology implementation, and testing settings. Process Readiness: Review production readiness, define routing costings, and document equipment requirements. Best Practices: Define, document, and train on best practices for existing production, product transfers, and new product introductions. Support and Integration: Support production areas to achieve KPIs, solve technical challenges, and integrate new products smoothly. About You: Education and Experience: HNC/Degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering with extensive manufacturing experience. Project Management: Skilled in managing and troubleshooting production solutions, including ERP systems and budget controls. Quality Assurance: Experienced in quality control using PFMEA, control plans, and inspection plans. Continuous Improvement: Proficient in methodologies like SMED, 5S, TPM, and Six Sigma. Technical Skills: Competent with CAD systems, digital machine connectivity, and design software (SolidWorks, Creo). Initiative and Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot using industry tools and manage external resources effectively.
