What You'll Be Doing
* Support HVAC Projects: Contribute to designing new HVAC systems or upgrading existing ones ensuring efficiency and safety.
* Collaborative Design: Work alongside a small close‑knit team of engineers to hit key project milestones and goals.
* Manage Multiple Projects: Balance various projects at once, prioritizing tasks and ensuring timely delivery.
* Documentation Excellence: Develop essential multi‑discipline design documents such as Project Requirement Documents, Basis of Design and Quality Plans.
* Independent Planning: Take ownership of planning and executing HVAC projects with minimal supervision.
* Deliverables Creation: Produce essential HVAC deliverables from technical reports to engineering drawings and building services calculations.
* Review & Check: Verify the design and deliverables of other senior mechanical designers to ensure quality and accuracy.
* Estimation & Scheduling: Provide estimates for scope changes and additional works while managing project timelines.
* Design Reviews: Support design review processes to ensure the highest standards are maintained.
* Compliance Documentation: Create detailed reports and documentation to ensure compliance with CDM requirements.
* Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work with integrated design teams, systems engineers and other project functions to achieve seamless project delivery.
* Security Clearance: Applicants will need to meet residency criteria for UK security clearance.
Qualifications
* Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering with proven HVAC design experience.
* Chartered or working towards chartership.
* Strong understanding of UK regulations.
* Knowledge of nuclear standards and site procedures is a plus.
* Ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
* Self‑driven with a passion for owning work and delivering results.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
* Strong writing skills to clearly document project findings and recommendations.
* Comfortable working under pressure to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
