Base pay range

£45,272 - £49,430 – the band minimum is the normal starting pay for those new to a role. In exceptional circumstances, when relevant skills and experience can be identified, a higher starting salary may be considered.

British Antarctic Survey (BAS) is looking for an exceptional Digital Development Manager to join our Transformation team. BAS delivers and enables world-leading interdisciplinary research in the Polar Regions. We employ experts from many different professions to carry out our Science as well as keep the lights on, feed the research and support teams and keep everyone safe!

You’ll be joining our Transformation team, and your role will help us deliver a comprehensive digital transformation plan that aligns with our strategic goals, enabling a transition to a modern and digitally empowered organisation. By working closely with BAS digital leadership, you’ll ensure our transformation efforts are aligned and drive maximum value across our science, operations, innovation and corporate services.

Current projects the team are working on include a broad and evolving scope of initiatives that will shape the digital future for BAS. From modernising core business systems to streamlining operational processes to driving innovation by utilising cutting edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, the work spans all aspects of digital transformation.

You’ll be joining a world-leading interdisciplinary research organisation, that is committed to recruiting talented people like you, progressing your career and giving you the support, you need to thrive at BAS.

Some of your main responsibilities:

- To support Digital Leaders across BAS to secure additional funding to help deliver the digital elements of the BAS Strategy

- Work with the Digital Strategy Group to identify and prioritise opportunities for adoption of new digital technologies across BAS

- Develop new collaborations outside of BAS, to advance the digital transformation agenda. This will involve close working with Digital Leadership in NERC and its research centres

- Ensure clear and convincing communication of the digital transformation agenda across BAS, developing case studies to demonstrate the benefits and impact

- To help drive integration of digital tools and infrastructure across teams

- To represent the priorities identified by the BAS Digital Leads and the Digital Strategy Group to internal and external stakeholders

- Identify and address barriers to adoption and integration of digital technologies into BAS.

For the role of Digital Development Manager, we are looking for somebody who has:

-Experience of working in a transformation team supporting the IT

-Experience working in an innovative environment

- Ability in engaging stakeholders both internal and external
