Purpose of Role
We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety professional to lead the practical implementation of JSP375 across MOD establishments. The role supports maintenance and project delivery, ensuring full compliance with MOD standards while working closely with project teams, Authorising Engineers, DIO, and end users.
Job Description
The post holder will be responsible for the effective implementation and operation of JSP375 within their area of responsibility. This includes providing professional health and safety advice across maintenance, response, and project activities, reviewing mechanical project works, and ensuring compliance with MOD standards. The role requires close collaboration with Senior Project Managers, Supply Chain partners, Authorising Engineers, and other key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
• Ensure compliance with JSP375 across all activities within the Service Delivery Area
• Provide professional and technical health & safety advice to site teams, Supply Chain, DIO, end users, and project teams
• Review mechanical project works, designs, and drawings for compliance with MOD standards
• Liaise directly with Authorising Engineers and maintain accurate site and activity records
• Review site risk registers and participate in risk meetings as required
• Reduce and close corrective action reports (CARs) within agreed timescales
• Support the Helpdesk with professional and technical advice
• Identify opportunities to support MOD carbon reduction targets
Essential Qualifications/Skills
• Professional Health & Safety Practitioner ( CMIOSH or ability to achieve within 12 months)
• NEBOSH Level 6 National Diploma (or equivalent)
• Clear understanding of CDM Regulations
• Internal Auditor qualification or experience
• Proven experience of MOD standards and requirements, particularly in major project delivery
• Ability to obtain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance
