Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
2. FRCS or equivalent
3. Specialist training in Vascular and Endovascular surgery with evidence of excellent clinical skills
4. Evidence of CCT completion (or within 6 months)
Desirable criteria
5. Fellowship within Vascular Surgery
6. Higher degree
Experience
Essential criteria
7. General training in vascular surgery to specialist level or equivalent with evidence of excellent clinical skills.
8. Experience in endovascular and open surgery
9. Ability to make decisions at Consultant level
10. Experience of teaching undergraduates and trainees
11. Experience of clinical audit with evidence of completed audits
Desirable criteria
12. Evidence of involvement in audit & research projects
13. Experience in clinical service development and improvement
14. Experience of delivering and planning renal access surgery
Skills Knowlege and Aptitude
Essential criteria
15. Excellent leadership, organisational, communication, professional and interpersonal skills
16. Ability to work effectively within a team of consultants.
17. Ability to work with individuals at all levels of a large organisation across Network NHS trusts
Desirable criteria
18. Computing skills: ability to use a word processor, spreadsheet programme, and web browser.
19. Knowledge of the current organisation of the NHS and the likely impact of POVS/GIRFT etc
20. Management training and experience
21. Familiarity with data contribution to National Vascular Registry
