We are partnering with a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice in Harrogate to recruit a proactive and client-focused Accountant. Key Responsibilities
1. Preparation of year-end accounts for a diverse range of clients (sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies).
2. Production of corporation tax and personal tax returns.
3. Managing and maintaining client relationships, acting as a first point of contact for queries.
4. Supporting clients with cloud accounting queries (primarily Xero).
5. Working collaboratively within a small, supportive team environment.
6. Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and practice procedures.
7. Contributing to workflow improvements and supporting the ongoing growth of the practice.
Requirements
Essential:
8. Previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment.
9. Strong working knowledge of Xero.
10. Demonstrable experience producing year-end accounts and tax returns.
11. Excellent communication skills and confidence in a client-facing role.
12. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently within a small team.
Desirable:
13. Experience using IRIS accountancy software.
14. AAT-qualified, part-qualified ACCA/ACA, or qualified by experience.
15. Knowledge of other cloud accounting platforms.
