SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Oldham
Hours: 8:30am to 3:40pm
Pay Rate: From £102 per day
Start Date: September 2026, Ongoing / Long-Term (with potential to extend or go permanent)

We're currently seeking SEN Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming SEN setting in Oldham, supporting students with additional learning needs in a nurturing and structured environment.
About the Role:
As an SEN TA, you'll play a key role in supporting pupils who may have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, autism (ASC), or other learning barriers .
You'll work alongside experienced teachers and support staff to help students re-engage with learning, develop self-confidence, and achieve their personal goals.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Providing one-to-one and small-group support during lessons and activities.
* Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation through calm, consistent approaches.
* Assisting with tailored learning programmes that meet individual needs.
* Building trusting relationships to help pupils feel safe, understood, and motivated.
* Supporting students' social development during unstructured times and transitions.

The Ideal Candidate:
We're looking for someone who:
* Has experience working with SEN / SEMH pupils or within an Alternative Provision / PRU / SEND school .
* Demonstrates patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting challenging behaviour.
* Can work effectively as part of a small, supportive team.
* Is available 8:30-3:40pm on a long term basis
* Holds a Child and Adult Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or is willing to apply for one).
A background in youth work, psychology, or social care would be a great advantage, but not essential, the right attitude and commitment to supporting young people are what truly matter.
