Deputy Director Guidance and Review, Martyn's Law
Employer: Security Industry Authority (SIA) – regulator responsible for protecting the public through effective regulation of the private security industry. The SIA has been named the independent regulator for Martyn's Law.
Salary: £70,001 - £78,800 plus the Civil Service Pension Scheme (Grade 6 equivalent). Location: Manchester or London office‑base with hybrid working and some travel across the UK.
Reporting to the Executive Director for Martyn's Law, you will lead the establishment, mobilisation and strategic direction of the new Martyn's Law Guidance and Review regulatory function. Your role will involve:
* Developing accessible regulatory and operational guidance for the new regulator.
* Engaging with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and the regulated community through an outreach programme.
* Delivering reviews and inspection support to ensure compliance with the Martyn's Law duty and build trust, confidence and credibility in the regulator.
We are looking for someone with the following experience and qualities:
* Senior leadership experience in regulatory guidance or review functions.
* Strong understanding of regulatory or compliance frameworks, and proven ability to develop and implement regulatory frameworks at a comparable organisation.
* Strategic thinking, inspirational leadership, and effective communication skills.
* Desirable: prior exposure to protective security or counter‑terrorism.
