Job Person Description A Nursing Associate job description involves providing person-centred hands-on clinical care, supporting registered nurses, and performing tasks like taking vital signs, venepuncture, and administering certain medications. They bridge the gap between healthcare support workers and registered nurses, working in various settings and contributing to patient Key Responsibilities Clinical Care Performing and recording clinical observations, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respirations. Undertaking clinical tasks like venepuncture (taking blood samples) and administering some injections and medications. Caring for individuals with varying needs, including those with mental health conditions or learning disabilities.

Teamwork and Communication Sharing information about patients' conditions, progress, and responses with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals. Working as part of nursing teams, communicating effectively with colleagues and providing patient-centred care. Acting as a patient advocate and providing support to individuals, their families, and carers. Patient Safety and Wellbeing Ensuring the safety, privacy, and dignity of individuals receiving care.

Recognising safeguarding issues for vulnerable children and adults. Supporting the promotion of health and the prevention of illness. Professional Accountability Making informed decisions and taking responsibility for their actions. Working within their scope of practice and recognising when to seek support or escalate concerns.

Contributing to service delivery and the continuous improvement of care quality. Work Settings Nursing associates work in a wide range of health and care settings, including hospitals, community settings, and social care environments, caring for people of all ages.
