As part of our continued growth and success, FEV UK is thrilled to offer a fantastic opportunity to join our dynamic team as a Calibration Engineer on a full‑time, permanent basis.

FEV UK is the agile and fast‑growing UK arm of FEV Group, one of the world’s largest and most respected automotive engineering consultancies. We deliver cutting‑edge solutions across the full spectrum of vehicle development—from design and analysis to prototyping, powertrain, transmission, calibration, and homologation. Our expertise spans advanced internal combustion engines, hybrid systems, and electric vehicles.

This role is based at our customer’s site in the Midlands—Derbyshire, Cheshire and/or our brand‑new, state‑of‑the‑art facility in Coventry—a unique joint venture between FEV and Coventry University, designed to foster innovation and collaboration.

Senior Calibration Engineer – Hybrid Powertrain Focus


The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Calibration Engineer to lead advanced calibration activities and guide customers through complex hybrid powertrain development. This is a strategic, technically demanding role that combines leadership, innovation, and deep technical expertise.


What You’ll Be Doing

* Own calibration strategy and execution for hybrid powertrain systems to meet stringent performance, emissions, and drivability targets.
* Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
* Analyse complex datasets to diagnose and resolve system‑level issues.
* Act as the primary technical liaison with customers and cross‑functional teams.
* Define validation plans and oversee execution, ensuring compliance with project milestones.
* Drive tool development and process optimisation for calibration workflows.
* Represent the company during international test trips and customer engagements.
* Expertise in one or more areas such as after‑treatment, OBD, thermal management, or hybrid operating strategy is highly desirable.


What You’ll Bring

* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
* 5+ years of experience in powertrain calibration, with significant exposure to hybrid systems.
* Advanced knowledge of PCM software and calibration tools (INCA, CANalyzer, CANoe, Creta, MATLAB).
* Strong understanding of functional safety standards (ISO 26262, IEC 61508).
* Proven ability to lead projects and manage customer relationships.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
